There are several types of dust mops which includes cut end, looped end, micro fiber, clip and tie style.

a) The dust mop head with cut end is able to capture finer dirt and dust particles but it can only reach a lesser surface area of dust due to its cut end. The strands that protrude from the mop head are cut and come in 2 styles that is tufted and sewn. The dust mop strands that grouped closely and clustered together is the tufted style. The cut end dust mop is an economical cleaning choice but is not meant for heavy duty use.

b) The looped end dust mop can captured dust in a larger surface area and thereby easily removed dirt particles because the strands protrude from the mop head are sewn and looped back.  It has a stronger absorbency and greater durability as compared to dust mop head with cut end. Besides, looped end dust mop can last longer because it does not have loose ends which can avoids tangling and withstand laundering better as compared to cut end dust mop.

c) Micro fiber dust mop is effective in capturing dust, smaller debris and micro particles with electrostatic properties. It is ideal to use in a quick routine cleaning job and for household use. The micro fiber dust mop that available in the market is commonly mildew resistant, bleach resistant and highly durable because it can withstand laundering greatly.

d) As the name refers, the clip tie dust mop uses snaps or clips to attach it to the side of the dust mop frame.
